A few weeks ago I shared that I had received a sample of Burt’s Bees Renewal Firming Moisturizing Cream on behalf of the PopSugar Dabble community. I was excited to try the moisturizer. I’d never tried any of their skincare before. I mainly purchase their lip balms.

The sample

The moisturizer sample was a small tube with a pump top. The full sized product is sold in a jar. The sample was a 0.35 oz in size. The pump top was very easy to use and dispensed a ribbon of moisturizer.

The moisturizer is stated help improve your skin tone, brighten and firm you skin. It is may also help with fine lines and wrinkles. Of course it also adds extra hydration to your skin as well.

The product states it can be used daily after cleansing your skin. It can be used on the face and neck.

User experience

Overall I liked that the moisturizer was light weight. It didn’t seem to leave my face looking shiny. My skin also didn’t feel oily or greasy. I applied both at night and in the morning at first just to see how I liked it.

The moisturizer is a basic white color but once you work it into your skin it turns clear.

The first time I tried it I cleansed my face like usual and only applied the product. I did this to see if I’d have any adverse reactions or other issues. I didn’t. Since I used it overnight I felt it left my skin feeling hydrated.

It does have a light scent. I noted cucumber but it wasn’t to strong but it was noticeable. After my first use I added it to my usual skincare routine. I didn’t have any adverse reactions after I added it with my general serum or tried it with a face oil.

I felt that it was hydrating but I didn’t really notice any firming of my skin. I also didn’t notice any real brightening either. As with any new skincare product these may take more time to notice. I also thought that since this was a sample I wasn’t going to see instant results because it may depend on how much you apply. Again even with a sample tube like this you may be able to get a number of uses out of it.

Final thoughts

All in all I liked the Burt’s Bees Renewal Firming Moisturizing Cream but like with many skincare product I felt it was good but it was missing something. I liked that it was lightweight and easy to apply but for my dry skin it seemed to be lacking in some areas.

It did hydrate and moisturize but i felt that at times my skin seemed to maintain the moisture in some areas of my face. I also didn’t think it dealt with certain dry patches well. Again this may have just been an error in my application or maybe i didn’t rub it into my skin enough.

However for me this would be a decent day cream. I know I’d need something a bit thicker for night time use. I liked that it did a good job at keeping my skin hydrated to a degree. I also liked that it was quick absorbing. I also didn’t have any breakouts besides my usual hormonal ones.

Now in terms of price the product ranges by retailer. I’ve found it from $13 to $16 USD. You can purchase directly from Burt’s Bees or through a number of retailers. Thanks to PopSugar Dabble community and Burt’s Bees for this free sample and reviewing opportunity.
