@Regrann from @kroq – It’s with heavy hearts that we must report that one of our dear friends Chester Bennington of Linkin Park has passed away this morning on the birthday of his late friend Chris Cornell. Although it’s still a developing story, law enforcement officials say the 41-year-old singer hanged himself in his private Los Angeles residence. He leaves behind a wife and 6 children.

KROQ has a long history with Chester that extends beyond music and into a more personal level. Everyone here is heartbroken. Our thoughts and prayers are with his friends, family, and bandmates.
