The Product

Hero Cosmetics Force Shield SuperLight Broad Spectrum SPF 30 is sold in a tube with a pump top. It’s sold in a small (travel size) and the 1.69 fl oz. This SPF is 100% mineral sunscreen. It’s safe for acne prone skin. it’s reef-safe, silicone-free and fragrance-free.

The SPF offers a pump top that is easy to use. It has a scooped top so your finger nestles into the space well.

The pump top opening is a decent size so it dispenses the perfect amount of SPF.

I will note that you may have to prime the pump top before the product is expelled. It took me a few pumps before I had a few drops of SPF.

Putting the product to the test

The SPF if a typical white shade.

I tested it on my hand the first day it arrived. It left a slight dewy finish to my skin but blended out clear.

The SPF has a light mineral sunscreen smell. It isn’t that bad it’s light but fades quickly.

The SPF texture is light and airy. It blends well into the hands and skin. I loved that it didn’t leave me with a white cast or grey hue.

Force Sheild SPF 30 blends out clear.

I felt the SPF absorbed well into my skin. I didn’t have any adverse reactions or skin issues. I felt it left my skin with a dewy finish.

As with any SPF reapplication may be required if you will be outdoors for over 2 hours, sweating or out swimming.

I used the product all day without any issues. I didn’t notice any streaking or pilling. Or even flaking when I was out running errands in the heat. The SPF didn’t clog my pores or give me any residual acne. It rinsed off cleanly at the end of the day.

Final thoughts and Where to buy

Final thoughts

Overall the Hero Cosmetics Force Shield Superlight Sunscreen Broad Spectrum SPF 30 works well. I liked that it didn’t leave a film on my face. It wasn’t oily or too sticky/tacky. I didn’t have any adverse reactions. Best of all the sunscreen blended clear so I wasn’t left looking chalky or like a ghost.

The product rinsed well and didn’t clog my pores. I liked that it gave my skin a slight dewy glow. The mineral sunscreen smell faded quickly too. Personally, I prefer mineral sunscreen because I’ve noticed some of the chemical sunscreens may irritate my skin or make my face itch.

Where to buy

The Hero Cosmetics Force Shield Superlight Sunscreen Broad Spectrum SPF 30 retails for around $20 USD. The travel size may be cheaper depending on the retailer.
