I came across Mondo Llama art supplies a while back while I was at Target. I was looking for a few metallic colors for some painting ideas I had. Well, I figured I’d pick up a few they were reasonably priced and a small enough jar that it wouldn’t dry out if I forgot about it.
a wide selection
Mondo Llama offers a wide selection of art supplies. They have paints, colored pencils, wooden paintable supplies, and other items.
They are all reasonably priced and can be found in-store and online.
let’s talk paints
I purchased a few Mondo LLama metallic paints. I purchased a gold and a metallic penny. The paints are easy to use and work well on canvases and wood.
I’ve used them for paint pour projects and mixed media projects. The metallics stand out well.
They sell paint pots in various sizes. I purchased the smaller-sized ones I believe they are 2 oz.
The paints are ways to use and when added to a pouring medium they flow well. Overall I can’t complain they fit my needs and don’t seem to separate much in the heat or cold.
The color selection is great. I will admit some in-store selections may vary as you can see from the picture.
As far as the metallics go they are vivid and long-lasting.
These are acrylic paints. they wash well off of hands and brushes with soap and water.
The paints are sold in satin, metallic, neon, glitter, and shimmer.
The paints range in price from around $2.99 for a 2oz jar up to around $8 USD for a 6 oz jar. Price may vary in-store and online.
paint collections
Mondo Llama also has paint sets and paint pouring mediums. they also have kits as well.
Mondo Llama has a ton of arts and crafts stuff too
Mondo Llama offers a lot of craft supplies as well as kits. If you like to craft or have kids that do these supplies are reasonably priced.
I can’t attest to their quality because I haven’t tried them but if your in the market for beads or other craft stuff check out the line.
Is it worth the price?
For me the paint was. it’s lasted me a while and didn’t seem to separate or curdle. You may want to give it a good shake before opening the paint pots. The colors were very vivid and held up. The owl mixed media picture I create is still sitting in my studio. The gold still looks pretty good. Granted it’s a little dusty but it’s held up well.
For me, I liked that the paints have a bit of body to them. They aren’t super runny or too thick. They work well when mixed with a craft stick or added to a paint pouring medium.
That’s one thing I liked the paints didn’t bind, curdle or turn oily when used with a few different paint pouring mediums.
All I can suggest is give Mondo Llama products a try and see for yourself.
