In January I had an email from The Insiders sharing about a new campaign. it was for an art supplies brand. I wasn’t familiar with the brand but I did fill out the questionnaire. I’m always up to trying new art supplies and getting new supplies too.
I was happy when I had an email letting me know i had qualified and could purchase two items i selected. They had a long list from colored pencils to art paper to stencils, paints, and paint sets. I had checked off a few items on the list but was happy to try any of the ones I was selected to review.
Just an FYI I was reimbursed by The Insiders after my purchase was made with a digital gift card.
The brand
I wasn’t familiar with the brand but it’s Brea Reese. They have a variety of products from paper to resin kits to paints and much more.
I figured it would be worth my while to learn about a new brand and see what their products had to offer.
the products
I was selected to test and review a tube of heavy-body acrylic paint and 3-inch stencils. This was perfect because they could go hand in hand. I’ll break it down into two parts for each product and then combine them for usage.
3-inch cardstock stencils
These stencils are a 48-count box. It offers all the letters, numbers, symbols, and extra letters you will need for any craft project. They are durable and large so you can use them on paper or other surfaces.
The stencils are easy to use but you will have to pop out extra cardstock. But if you use the letters, numbers, or symbols you can do this quickly.
48 stencils
The box includes 48 stencils that include the alphabet, symbols, numbers, and extra letters.
A-Z letters are all in uppercase and according to the box, it’s Fun Letters style font.
Here are 4 symbols. Ampersand (&), pound/hashtag/crosshatch (#), question mark (?), and exclamation point (!)
You get 10 numbers. 1 through 9 and 0.
You also get extra letters. Many of the most used ones. A,E, I,O, U R, S, T.
How to use the stencils
You can tape them to the surface you will use them on so they stay in place. you can paint in the letters or dab paint on with a sponge. Remove the stencil before the paint dries. If you get paint on them just let it dry and you can reuse it again and again.
Professional heavy-body acrylic paint
I’m not going to lie I was excited to try this product. I haven’t used many heavy body acrylic paints let alone one that is labeled professional. So I wanted to see how well this worked and applied when in use.
The tube is 4 oz and has a blip top.
The top keep this paint steady when you stand it up. the top unscrews to remove the foil seal.
The seal was removed easily with one pull.
The paint is dispensed evenly in a blob on a plate. I didn’t have to squeeze the tube too hard to expel it.
This paint was shade, Mars Black. The color lived up to the name. It was easy to spread with a paintbrush.
I will note that if you are working in a warmer environment or temperature you may want to dispense the paint before you use it. left it in the sun for a few minutes while I taking photos and it dried up just a bit. But once I moved it around it was pliable again.
Testing the art supplies
I used a sheet of cheap construction paper to test the stencils and paint.
I took an H and I and placed them on the construction paper. I then went ahead and painted the letters. The stencils stayed in place and didn’t shift too much.
I was using a cheap paint brush but I still found that the paint applied smoothly to the paper Granted my brush strokes were a bit sloppy but still it worked well.
I let the paint dry for a minute or two before removing the stencils. they peel away from the paper with ease.
Here’s the end result.
The paint was easy to wash off the paint brush when I was done.
The biggest thing that surprised me was that the paint didn’t bleed through the construction paper. I didn’t press too hard when painting nor did I saturate the paper with paint either. The paper rippled a bit but no bleed through.
Now that the page is dry the paint has a slight texture but it’s more from the brush strokes.

Final thoughts and where to buy
final thoughts
I liked both of the Brea Reese products I tried. The stencils will come in handy for craft projects or for even making signs. The Professional heavy-body acrylic paint will be fun to use for some project ideas I have in mind. I like that both products can be used together.
where to buy
I purchased these products at Office Depot. I ordered them because my local store was out of stock. The 3-inch stencils were $5 and the Professional heavy body Acrylic was $5.
You can also check out their storefront on Amazon. Brea Reese also has a store locator along with the full product list.
Thanks to The Insiders and Brea Reese for this testing opportunity.
