@Regrann from @babeandbeauty – One of the main ingredients in natural deodorant is baking soda. While itβs a great natural ingredient that works wonderfully for many people, it can cause under arm irritation or a rash for some if itβs too high of a concentration. The ph scale ranges from 1 being the most acidic, and 14, being the most alkaline. The ph of baking soda is around a 9 which is pretty alkaline considering the ideal ph of the skin is around a 4.5-6. So when mixed with the moisture of sweat + friction from moving your arms = bam you have a rash or what is called a βchemical burn.β ??
.
Tips + What you can do:
β’ First, don’t give up! You just have to find the formula that works for you!
β’ Use less. You actually donβt need to apply nearly as much natural deodorant as conventional. A few swipes and you are good.
β’ If a rash occurs stop wearing the deodorant and let your skin calm down and heal until it clears.
β’ Switch to a magnesium and arrow root powder based formula without baking soda. @schmidtsnaturals and @native_cos make sensitive formula deodorants that are seriously the best and my all time favorite!
β’ Use a lower concentration of baking soda based formula. @primalpitpaste makes a level 1 and 2 baking soda based natural deodorant to fit your needs.
