This morning I woke up thinking about friendship. Maybe it had something to do with the fact that it’s my best friends birthday. Happy Birthday Kristy. But then again may it’s just my crazy gemini brain. Who knows. Either way it’s still a good topic to talk about.
Friendship is something we learn about at an early age. We learn to socialize with others. Be it if we went to preschool or play groups or even with siblings and extended family. Once you start school you make friends. For instance my best friend and I met in kindergarten. We’re still friends.
As we know friendships change and evolve over the years. Again case in point my friend and I. Yet no matter how much things change some things stay consistent. You might not live near each other but you can still have long in-depth conversations about the things you love. If you have a friend like mine they may indulge your silliness or endless chatter about your latest crush or passion. I”ve said it a million times over thanks for that Kristy. You’ve dealt with my ever changing ideal loves.
Friendship works both ways however those of us who have had long term friends know how things can be. You have your ups and downs. You deal with the good and the bad. In most cases you see things through and everything works out. You might have your disagreements but things smooth over after a few days.
Again if you’ve had long term friends they basically become your family and you become theirs. It’s wonderful to spend time with those you love. So as the title reminds us friendship is a gift that keeps on giving. I for one am thankful for my friends and the wonderful friendships we have.
