A few weeks back Derma-E had a sample offer. The sample you could request was Vitamin C Instant Radiance Citrus Facial Peel. Well, I figured I’d give it a try. As you all know I do love Derma-E products and I have shared many in the past.
The sample arrived fairly quickly. It arrived last week.
Product Overview
The sample is a general Vitamin C facial peel. It is stated to help improve the look of your skin along with any discoloration.
Here’s a screenshot of the info sourced from Derma-E
Here’s the ingredient list as well. Source Derma-E

User Experience
I tried the sample a few hours after it arrived. According to Derma- E it can be used on the face, neck and the backs of your hands. I tried it on my face. Overall the sample packet had a decent amount of product in it.
The product packet states that you can apply it to cleansed skin. So i washed my face with my usual cleanser. I will add that since this does have Vitamin C along with Glycolic and Lactic Acids you may want to try this product out at night. That way you can see if you have any adverse reactions. You may also avoid a sunburn as well.
Trying the product
As I stated above I applied the product a cleansed face.
The packet was easy to open. As you’d expect the Vitamin C Instant Radiance Citrus Facial Peel is orange. I liked that it wasn’t too thick or too thin. I also didn’t seem to be runny.
The peel has an interesting scent. It’s a bit citrusy with slight floral notes. It is a unique application process you have to apply a thin layer to your face. Since the peel settled a bit in the packet I think I may have applied a bit too much to one side of my face. It adheres well but didn’t dry on contact which is great.
As you can see the orange color showed up well thanks to the peel. You can leave it one for 3 to 5 minutes. This may vary from user to user.
Here’s another photo of what the peel looks like on my skin
As the peel begins to dry you do feel a slight tightening. I didn’t have any adverse reactions such as a burning sensation or anything of that nature. It does harden slightly on your face as it begins to dry. I didn’t feel like it was removing any moisture from my skin which was nice.
As I mentioned you can leave it on your skin for 3 to 5 minutes. I left it on for around 5 mins. As I waited I washed my hands. I can say I liked that the peel didn’t leave my hand looking orange after application.
You do see the orange but once I washed my hands the peel rinsed clean. I didn’t have any irritation or redness on my hand either.
5 minutes later
After 5 minutes I knew the peel was dry. I could feel it on my face. It didn’t feel odd but you can touch the peel and feel hat it has hardened on your face.
You can see from the photo above the Vitamin C Instant Radiance Citrus Facial Peel has changed color a bit. It turns a lighter shade of orange once it dries.
According to the direction you can rinse your face with cool water. I will suggest that you may want to use a washcloth. I found some parts of the peel were a bit trickier to remove. Overall it rinses off well.
Final thoughts
Overall I liked the Vitamin C Instant Radiance Citrus Facial Peel. I didn’t have any adverse reactions, skin redness or burning sensation. I also like that it can be used once a week if you’d like. I found that I didn’t have any interactions with any of my current skincare products either. One big thing I was happy about is that it didn’t stain my skin.
The scent was calming yet inviting. I found the formula to work well with my dry skin. I don’t have any cons for this product. Being that it was a sample this was a one time use. Even with that being stated it’s still a nice introduction to a vitamin C peel.
Thanks again to Derma-E for this free sample packet. If you’d like to learn more visit the links provided in the post or the link below.
