It’s been nearly a month since I was sent the Nourishing Shampoo PR sample from Derma-E. I’d like to take the time out to thank them for this product. I’d only used their skin care products over the last few years. I was very excited to try a hair care product from them.

Shampoo overview

That being said let me share a bit about the overall shampoo to start. It’s free of sulfates and silicone. it is also non-GMO, vegan, gluten-free and cruelty-free. This shampoo has apricot seed and argan oil. It’s stated to help smooth and hydrate your hair.

Ingredients: (source derma-e product page)

Water, Decyl Glucoside (Plant Derived), Lauryl Glucoside (Plant Derived), Sodium Cocoyl Glutamate (Coconut Derived), Disodium Cocoyl Glutamate (Coconut Derived), Glycerin (Vegetable Derived), Sodium Lauroyl Lactylate, Sorbitan Sesquicaprylate, Quillaja Saponaria Molina (Soap Tree) Bark Extract, Hydrolyzed Quinoa, Sodium PCA, Sodium Lactate, Leuconostoc/Radish Root Ferment Filtrate, Arginine, Aspartic Acid, PCA, Glycine, Alanine, Serine, Valine, Proline, Threonine, Isoleucine, Histidine, Phenylalanine, Panthenol (Provitamin B5), Argania Spinosa (Argan) Kernel Oil, Prunus Armeniaca (Apricot) Kernel Oil, Xanthan Gum, Phenoxyethanol, Ethylhexylglycerin, Sodium Benzoate, Natural Fragrance Oils.

My First Impressions

Now that I have that out of the way let me get to my overall experience with this shampoo. My first impressions of the shampoo was that it was very creamy. It’s a standard shampoo color. Basically white in color.

As I mentioned it’s creamy without feeling oily. Since it is a sulfate free shampoo it may not lather at first as a general shampoo does. I found that it lathers well once you work it into your hair. It rinses clean. I didn’t feel that my hair was stripped of its natural oils.

As I’ve used it I’ve found that it has helped my hair. After the first few uses I noticed that my hair was softer. The scent is lovely. It’s a bit floral and fruity but not overwhelming. The size of the tube is average and can last a while depending on your hair length and washing routine.

Final Thoughts

All in all I was very happy with this Nourishing Shampoo. It’s reasonably priced ($9.99 USD) and can be found online and in select stores. I also liked that even after all the damage i’ve put my hair through lately this seems to be helping soothe some of it along the way. It’s color safe as well. I didn’t experience any scalp itching or adverse skin reactions when using this product. For me and my dry hair this did the trick. You can visit the link provided to learn more about this product.
