A few weeks ago I shared via Instagram that I’d received a new First Aid Beauty (FAB) product sample. This was one of their newer products. The ULTRA REPAIR HYALURONIC HYDRATING PRIMER can be used alone or as a primer.

Product Overview

This new product as I mentioned can be sued as a base primer or in addition to your regular skincare routine. It’s lightweight and smells a bit like cucumber. It also has some floral notes to it as well. I didn’t mind the scent but I know some people may not find it very appealing. I found that it glided well over my skin. it did plump my skin. It also added a hydrating layer.

User Experience

All in all the product does absorb quickly. I can say that for me I wouldn’t use this product alone. I say that because I tend to have dry skin so it felt like it protected my skin to a point. Grant Hyaluronic Acid does plump the skin. The added Colloidal oatmeal also helps sooth the skin. But again for me I felt it didn’t give me long term moisture retention or hydration. That bein shared it can be used as a primer too. I didn’t test this out (which i probably should have)

I did use this in combination with my usual skincare routine. I found it didn’t cause any adverse reactions with my usual moisturizer or facial oil product. I did like that it didn’t leave my skin feeling oily or greasy. The fact that it’s a lightweight formula doesn’t give you the feel of wearing a mask. My skin still felt like it could breathe.

Here’s a slide show of the product and how it works.

The product is white but once you blend it out it turns clear. It did leave a slight sheen to the back of my hand. It also leaves a slight sheen on your face but that fades quickly. I didn’t feel that it left my skin feeling sticky or tacky.

Final Thoughts

Overall the product is nice because it is lightweight and absorbs quickly. However, for me, it didn’t give me the hydration I’d hoped for. Once again I tend to have dry skin so I may be a bit harsher on the hydrating expectations than normal. Also, the scent may not be for everyone.

Besides that, it’s a great product. If you’d like to have a lightweight breathable primer this may fit your needs. The price according to First Aid Beauty is $28 (USD). That is for a 1.7 oz product tube. It can be found at Ulta or First Aid Beauty’s website.
