Ebates has a new name. This change happened recently but I thought i’d still share the info for those of you who may not have noticed. Or for those who aren’t familiar with Ebates. Ebates is now Rakuten
I’ve been a member for a few months now. It can be very helpful when it comes to saving money online and in-store (if you use the app). You can download the browser extension for Firefox and Chrome. There may be other browsers options as well but those are the two I know of.
The browser extension alerts you to deals when you are on websites and or if you are browsing a website. It gives you a drop down that states activate X percentage off. You can activate the offer and make a purchase. Once your order is placed you will have an email notice a short time later sharing how much you will be earning in cash back. Sometimes depending on the product and the brand partnership you can earn a fair amount in cash back.
This may vary from store to store as well as during times of the year. For instance I recently ordered a DNA kit from Ancestry and earned nearly $20 in cash back rewards. I will say that the rewards payout is on a scale system so that means it’s every so many weeks.
But if you are someone who shops online regularly this may be something you’d like to look into. You can also browse the savings via Rakuten’s website as well and activate your deal. If you’d like to sign up or learn more click here
