Let’s get started with today’s tips. Selection and items may vary. Also, prices may vary in-store and online.

Bath

I love to purchase bath items at discount stores. They last me a while and I don’t feel like I’m spending a ton of money on something I may change in six months. Here are some of my favorite buys.

Shower Curtains

I like buying shower curtains at discount stores. They are quality items and will last with proper care. Depending on the material they may last you for many years to come. Once again you will need to inspect the product to make sure it doesn’t have any loose threads if it’s a cloth curtain or doesn’t have a smeared print if it’s a vinyl or PVC or plastic printed curtain. I also like to check the washing instructions too.

Here’s an example of my last shower curtain purchase

So far this shower curtain has lasted me about a year maybe longer. It’s washable which is nice and it didn’t fade after washing either.

I would also suggest you check to see what type of hook loops the curtain has as well I think the ones with metal grommets are a bit better. Cloth ones have varied hook loop styles. I can’t complain I bought this shower curtain for under $10 so that was great even if it didn’t have the metal grommets.

This curtain was a purchase from my local Burlington Coat Factory (in store)

Shower Curtain Liners

Another item I like to buy at discount stores is shower curtain liners. I try to change these out every few months. So I don’t want to spend too much money on them. Again quality range may vary from a heavyweight liner to lighter ones. You will need to check the quality if you are buying them in store. I like to buy the ones with the magnetic ends and strong metal grommets.

Bath Accessories

These are something we all use at one time or another. Be it a soap dispenser or a trash can. If you’re like me and you like to mix and match colors you may buy them often. Shower caddies are also helpful if you like to use them.

I like that you can always find a reasonably priced item that will fit your budget. I also like that on occasion you may be able to find an entire bath set in a can. This is especially true during Back-To-School season. This is usually a trashcan with your curtain, soap holder, toothbrush holder and a soap dispenser. (This may vary depending on the store or brand) I’ve also only seen these in store.

Bath Mats and Towels

Now for these items, I usually spend a bit more. I do occasionally buy towels at the discount store but mostly they are washcloths that I may use for cleaning. Again you will need to check to see if the quality of the items fit your needs. I’ve found that some of the discount store bath mats are too thin or the weave is too loose for my liking. The same may go for the towels but again this may vary by brand and store.
