A few weeks back i was sent a package from Derma-E. They were kind enough to gift me a number of products. Two where their Ultra Hydrating Alkaline products. I shared about the product in this post. I was excited to try this water eye gel. The name intrigued me a bit.
The product
Ultra Hydrating Alkaline Water Eye Gel is one of Derma-E’s newer products. It’s a hydrating eye serum but it’s a gel formulation. So it gives you a hydrating and moisturizing layer under your eyes.
The product is stated to moisturize, cool, brighten, and de-puff your under-eye area. It’s sold in a 1/2 oz squeeze tube. The tube also had an easy to use roller applicator.
You apply to your under-eye area as needed. You can pat in any excess product.
Ingredients (source Derma-E product page)
Purified Water, Glycerin (Vegetable Derived), Xanthan Gum, Polysorbate 20 (Vegetable Derived), Sodium Hyaluronate (Hyaluronic Acid), Hydrolyzed Sodium Hyaluronate, Copper PCA, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice, Vaccinium Myrtillus (Bilberry) Fruit Extract, Dunaliella Salina Extract (Vitamin B12) (Plant Derived), Cucumis Sativus (Cucumber) Fruit Extract, Palmitoyl Tripeptide-5, Panthenol (Provitamin B5), Allantoin, Sodium Bicarbonate, Potassium Sorbate, Phenoxyethanol, Ethylhexylglycerin, Natural Fragrance Oils.
User experience
Overall the eye gel works well. It’s clear and isn’t too thick. I apply two passes under each eye. The roller is dispenses a nice amount on your under eye area. You will need to give the tube a light squeeze.
I liked that the eye gel was a decent formulation it was a gel of course but it wasn’t so thick that it caked to my skin. I didn’t have any adverse reactions or other skin issues. I liked that the eye gel dries quickly and doesn’t feel heavy on the skin.
It also doesn’t leave my skin looking shiny. I also didn’t have any oily feeling either.
I’ve used it both during the day and at night. Both times I’ve had the same hydrating effect. I wil l admit depending on how much you apply the product may cake onto your skin. But this is only if you apply an excessive amount.
As far as the brightening and de-puffing go I think I’ve noticed my eyes look less puffy after I apply the product. I did see a difference in my skin though. I’ve noticed it feels smoother.
Final thoughts
I liked the Ultra Hydrating Alkaline Water Eye Gel because it has hydrated my under eye area. It also has improved my skin tone a bit. Again I can’t attest to its brightening properties but my skin looks a bit smoother.
Now let’s talk price. The Ultra Hydrating Alkaline Water Eye Gel retails for $18.95 USD. It can be purchased from Derma-E or Ulta
Thanks to Derma-E for the wonderful products and reviewing opportunity.
