Last night my friend and I were lucky enough to see U2 at the Rose Bowl. Well, we love to people watch. As I was watching people pass I noticed many people who lacked some common courtesy.

I’ve been to many concerts over the years and I think we all encounter these people. Be it the ones that shove you out of the way to get to their seat or the ones who just block the aisle or walkway for others.

Here’s an example of things my friend and I encountered yesterday.

We saw a group of young people block the steps while they debated about their seats. They had no regard for anyone else around them. The vendors had to ask them to step aside a few times so they could get through. The couple behind me were pitching a fit. (I’m in my 30’s so to me anyone under 30 is a young person. Yes I know I sound like I’m a 90 yr old but it’s true)

Being that the seat I purchased were bleacher seats you only have so much room between yourself and the person next to you. Well, my friend and I had interesting seatmates. The guy sitting next to my friend was bothered because she wouldn’t move over more. Granted you can only move so far before you are sitting in someone’s lap.  The guy made no effort to make himself smaller. He just kept mansplaining and griped about the lack of personal space.

Another thing I encountered last night was people trying to shove you to go down the steps. I’m sorry but trying to push me down to the next step won’t get me to move any faster

I will say that for all the people who lacked courtesy there were a number of folks who made up for them. I was thankful to everyone who was polite when moving past and tried not to kick you either. It just surprises me that people seem to look their minds in large social situations such as concerts or events of any type.

Have you encountered any of these when going to concerts? if so share them with me.
