Back in 2019, I happened upon a free sample request form Clinique. I, of course, jumped at the chance for the product. I’ve tried a few of their product samples in the past and figured this would be something worth trying.
The Moisture Surge Eye 96-Hour Hydro Filler Concentrate arrived quickly. I was happy to try it out and wondered how well it worked.
Product Overview
The product is stated to help tighten and brighten your under-eye area along with hydrate it for 96 hours.
The eye concentrate is gel-like so a small amount goes a long way. Also, it has Auto-Replenishing Lipid-Sphere Technology (Clinique’s phrasing not mine). Basically this means they have liquid filled beads that burst as you smooth the gel out in your fingers before applying it to your eyes. This helps give you longer-lasting hydration.
According to CLINIQUE you can apply a pea-size amount to your under-eye area and let it dry before applying any other products. You can use it alone or under makeup.

just and FYI CLINIQUE does note that ingredients may change from time to time so always check the product label for the most up to date ingredients. In my case, all of the ingredients look to be the same.
User Experience
The first time I tried the sample I tried it in July. It kept my under eye area hydrated in 90-degree heat. I also found that it didn’t break up my makeup or cake it either. After that I sort of let it sit for a few months. When winter rolled around I figured I’d try it again. I found that it worked well for me as a hydrating eye gel for night use. I tried it the second time before bed. I woke up with my eyes still feeling very hydrated.
For me, the image above you can see that the product is gel-like and thick. It’s not so thick that it doesn’t blend or absorb into the skin. It absorbs well into the skin and didn’t leave my skin feeling sticky or tacky.
I found that the product worked well with my existing skincare products. I didn’t have any adverse reactions either.
Final Thoughts
Overall the product met my needs. The only thing I think the Moisture Surge Eye™ 96-Hour Hydro-Filler Concentrate could do without is Liqid-Spheres. Yes, I know this is part of the added hydration properties but it seems a bit silly to have the added beads. You still need to burst before applying the eye product.
Besides that, I felt the product met my needs. I liked that it’s a gel consistency so it spreads well and clings to the skin. I also liked that it worked well when I used it under makeup as well. I don’t think I’d purchase this for daily use, however. It’s not because I didn’t like it it’s just because I don’t feel that I’d use it often enough.
Currently, it’s priced at $34 USD for a full-sized bottle. It can be found at many retailers. From Sephora to Ulta also check your local department store CLINIQUE counter as well.
