I originally was introduced to these art supplies thanks to The Insiders.

The Brea Reese stencils are 3 inches and they are in the font fun letters.

Stencil quality

The stencils are made of durable paper. they may be lightweight card stock. Here’s a few examples of what the package includes from my original post.

The stencils were easy to use with acrylic paint. The paper held up well and the paint didn’t bleed through the stencil.

Repainting my curb numbers

I noticed that our house numbers at the curb were starting to look a bit faded. So I figured I’d give the stencils another try.

After I finished the base (white) layer I gathered my numbers and set to work taping them the address numbers.

The box includes 1 of each number 0 through 9. This is great if you have a house address that doesn’t include a duplicate number.

I taped the numbers together at the top and bottom and placed them at the curb. I went over them with black spray paint.

I also repainted my neighbor’s cure numbers as well. This was a bit of a challenge because this address has a repeated number. A 2 to be exact.

So the end result wasn’t that bad it was still legible and looked even. Although it did have a bit of an outline.

4022 painted on curb in black spray paint on a white background.
The numbers lined up okay I just wish there were extra numbers.

Clean up

Overall the stencils were easy to place and remove. The painter’s tape removed well. I will say one stencil did have a slight tear but it was mainly a top layer of paper.

4,0 and 2 Stecil painted black with painter tape at edges.
They lined up well with painter’s tape.

The stencils are thick enough that the spray paint didn’t seep through. You may have some drips with certain numbers and it may vary by your spray paint technique and saturation.

If you are using Acrylic paint you can wipe any excess paint off the stencil.

These stencils are durable

The stencils are durable for various craft ideas. I liked that they are easy to lift off a surface. They line up well and keep a clean edge.

The only thing I would have liked was extra numbers. That would be great for projects like repainting home addresses or making a banner or sign with a phone number.

Final thoughts and Where to buy

Final thoughts

I can say I liked the Brea Reese 3-inch stencils. They are easy to use and stay in place when taped. I liked that they offer a clean edge. I just wish they had offered a duplicate numbers. The stencils didn’t tear too much when I removed the painter’s tape. They dried quickly. I didn’t have any paint bleed through. Once the spray paint dried the numbers didn’t stick together too much.

Where to buy

I had originally purchased the Brea Reese 3-inch stencils from Officedepot.com. They were under $5 USD.

For the price, I think the quality is good and if you take care of them you may get several uses out of them.

You can visit Brea Reese to view their entire line of Stencils and all of their other products.
