It’s almost time to say goodbye to 2023 so I thought I’d recap the year for us here at Life with Pal.
Most popular posts
We’ve had a few posts gain a lot of attention this year.
Of course, some of our older posts are still popular as well.
I was featured in a community group
I was a featured member of the Creator’s Studio community earlier this year. This site is part of Rustoleum. I was excited to be featured.
It might seem silly but I was honored that they asked if I wanted to be part of the member feature. I’m hoping this will lead to bigger things in the future.
We’ve grown
We’ve gained a few new followers and newsletter subscribers this year. Our YouTube channel has seen the biggest growth this year.
Life with Pal’s cat family is growing
This year we added some new cat friends to our home.
This was a busy year for cats at my house. We added 6 new friends this year.
Cleo and Leo
These two were from a trio of kittens born to Stache and Papa Sam. They are feral pair who are hard to catch and frequent my neighborhood.
Sadly Cleo and Leo lost their sister at around 5 weeks or so.
We kept them and they are living their best lives.
Olive
Olive is from another litter that Stache and Papa Sam had this year. She was the lone survivor of her litter. We don’t know if her siblings were left in neighbors’ yards or if they just passed due to extreme heat. She was born at the end of June or early July when we were having a heat wave.
She was born in my neighbor’s yard and he brought her over to us when she was a little under a month old.
She’s thriving very well and was spayed before Christmas.
Bear, Linus, and Smokey
In early October we added 4 more kittens to our home.
Linus came first he was about 16 to maybe 18 hours old. My neighbor found him in his yard. He still had his placenta and umbilical cord attached.
A day later we found his siblings. Again these little ones belonged to Stache and Papa Sam.
Sadly their sister passed at a week old. So that left us with three boys. Which is a deja vu moment because ti took me back to 2021 when we took in Dylan, Teddy, and Sam.
They turned 12 weeks old on the 27th and are thriving. They are loving their big sister Olive very much.
Remembering those we lost
We lost three furry friends this year.
We had to put Shadow down in July. He was a little over 2 years old. He had repeated respiratory infections that would be treated and then returned. He also wasn’t himself. So we felt it was best to let him go.
I’m happy we have Smokey now so he can keep up Shadow’s legacy going with Black cat awareness posts and help dispel the myth that black cats are evil.
We lost Sophie in August. She was the last of my original cats from Pal’s little family. She was 16 years old. She’d been declining over the last few months. We felt it was time to let her go. She wasn’t eating and not drinking much so we knew it was time.
Oddly enough she went to kitty heaven on International Cat Day. She will be missed but we were lucky to have her for all the years we did.
Sally was the last cat to go. She was a random cat that showed up at my house and had kittens. We found out she had a family after we took her to the shelter. She came back looking for her babies and stayed on for a bit.
She was a beautiful little kitty who was so sweet and loving. She loved caring for Leo and Cleo once Stache didn’t want them anymore.
I never found out where she lived or who owned or cared for her. But all I can do is hope that her kittens found good homes.
Willie went missing on November 1st of this year and hasn’t been seen since. We don’t know what’s happened to her. I’ve listed her missing on various sites including our local animal shelter but still haven’t heard much. I last saw her Halloween night playing in the backyard with Leo, Cleo, and Olive before they came inside for the night.
Her brother Jack is still looking for her. He’ll randomly meow for her when he’s outside.

what will 2024 bring?
I am excited about 2024 because we have more product reviews to share. There were a few products I didn’t get to this year or that I want to update in the coming year.
I’m also thinking about adding a few physical products to Pal’s shop too.
If you have any topics you’d like me to talk about feel free to share them in the comments or send us an email.
