I just found out that one of the sites that had stolen my content appears to be offline.

I don’t know if Statloveov.live was taken down because of several complaints from other people or if the scammers ran their course and opted to move on to a new site.

An update about my content that was stolen and posted to another site

how i found out the site was removed

I have a plugin on my site that notifies me of broken links. Well, I clicked on the link to check it and noticed I hit a page is unable to load screen.

I checked with Google and noticed the site has been removed. According to Whois, nothing has changed with the site.So all I can assume is that wherever the site was being hosted it was taken down.

Sav.com is the site’s registrar and it’s listed with Cloudflare as well. But I never got to find out who the host was so I assume they were redirecting from another source or self-hosting on their own server.

I also found a number of Scam site listings relating to the site when I did a Google search.

Here’s the twist

My Grape leaves photo ended up on a new site that looks identical to statloveov.live.

This new site is freeacnevs.xyz.

Lo and behold it also has the same scammy hot@examfreevs.com email address.

If you don’t believe me here are screenshots of the sales page that features my photo.

In the words of Ned Flanders “Well, sir, I hate to be a suspicious Aloysius…”

The crazy thing is that the site kept it’s exact design and pricing just changed the URL. I know this is easy to do but still the site is still registered with Sav.com and Cloudflare.

It’s still funny that the site has my photo listed for $6.30. It’s also odd that they have a drop-down list. It appears the image can be placed on clothing and shoes.

I don’t know who would want grape leaves on a shirt or shoes but hey to each other own.

When the photo is listed on Google

When the photo is listed in Google search it appears in the top 3. It’s also listed under a website named https://www.escapeauthority.com.

You can check out that site’s Whois.

Yet when you click on the search link it redirects you to freeacnevs.xyz

Google screen shot. Grape leaves series Life with Pal fis listed via www.escapeauthority.com. but when it redirects you are sent to reeacnevs.xyz.
A redirect tactic is the site www.escapeauthority.com or freeacnevs.xyz?

What I learned about the redirection site

I learned that https://www.escapeauthority.com is a real site. It appears to be some sort of site that talks about Escape rooms. From what I saw the site hasn’t been updated (even social media posts) since late April of this year.

According to their Whois info, everything seems up to date.

I don’t know if the site was hacked or if they just had some unfortunate tech issue that their site is being used for the redirect.

I reached out to the site’s admiinsitrative contact info listed via the Whois page. I’m not sure if they know about this issue.

scammers are always going to find a way

I think scammers will always find a way to steal content or money from people. There isn’t a way to avoid this but all I can keep doing is letting everyone know they have a right as a content creator to share these types of sites.

Hopefully, these sites will be shut down for good in the near future. But only time will tell.
