When most people think of backlit keyboards they usually think of gamers. But this isn’t always the case. I tried a backlit keyboard a few years ago and haven’t gone back to a traditional one since.
For me, I think I like the whimsy of them and the ability to see your keys if you are working in a dimly lit space. I often work in low light during the summer months to keep my workspace cool.
keyboard pricing and Specs
Most backlit keyboards range in price from under $20 USD to well over $100 USD. They also may range in style and size. Some may be an RGB color scheme. Others may just be white or yellow.
Also, some brands may be specific for Macs or Windows or they may be a plug-and-play technology. Some may also be wired or could be Blue Tooth enabled with a small USB toggle.
Some brands of backlit keyboards may bundle items such as a mouse and mouse pad in a set. Or some keyboards might have an added wrist rest in the design.
Of course, some of the cheaper key quality or the letters may show usage easily. That means you may start to see letters being rubbed off or keys wearing down.
Keyboards that see a lot of users tend to have some sort of wear and tear over time. But this may just vary by the keyboard type and how heavy you are on your keys.
Lower-priced RGB keyboards
You can find RGB keyboards for as low as $15 USD depending on the retailer you might even find them lower.
I don’t mind purchasing lower-priced RGB keyboards. I know since it gets used daily it will have some serious wear and tear on the.
I will say prior to purchasing a lower-priced RGB keyboard always do your research on them. They may not always offer the best options. For example, if you like to have a number pad some may not have that. Or they might not have select color schemes or options you might like.
