I thought I’d give you all an update on the Derma-E blue light shield products I shared back in January. Derma-E gifted me both products. I finished the products, for the most part, this week. Overall I liked them both very much. I also shared a blog post back in February.

Earlier this month I shared a video review as well.

Derma e Blue Light products

product overview

Both products were stated to help protect your skin from possible effects of blue light. They were also They are also stated to help nourish your skin thanks to blue green algae.

Overall both products worked well for me. They did keep my skin hydrated and nourished. Used both products together daily. I also found that they didn’t cause any interactions or adverse reactions with my existing skincare products.

BLUE LIGHT SHIELD CONCENTRATED SERUM

The serum is very easy to apply. It has blue green algae and charcoal and ginseng root extract. Since it has charcoal in it it’s a bit of a grayish shade.

It absorbs quickly into the skin and has a faint smell of the sea. I liked that it didn’t leave my face feeling gritty or sticky. You can use the product twice a day.

My skin does feel smoother and softer. I think my pores may be cleaner as well.

BLUE LIGHT SHIELD SPRAY

The blue light shield spray is very refreshing and easy to use. I liked that it’s cooling to the skin. I found applying this before the concentrated serum helped my face from feeling dry. But you can apply it any way you like.

I also liked that you can use it throughout the day if your skin feels dry. The spray has a refreshing scent. It has a wide spray pattern so a few sprays will do to cover your face and neck.

Final thoughts

All in all, I liked both products as I said. I will admit that the BLUE LIGHT SHIELD CONCENTRATED SERUM may require you to use a scraper or a stick to remove any bit that’s left on the bottom of the tube. The BLUE LIGHT SHIELD CONCENTRATED SERUM retails for $22.50 USD.

As for the BLUE LIGHT SHIELD SPRAY is a nice addition to any skincare routine. You can also use it as a setting spray. I found that my skin is hydrated when I wake up. I also like that it’s not too irritating to the skin. I didn’t have any adverse reactions to it or redness. The BLUE LIGHT SHIELD SPRAY retails for $16.95 USD. Both products can be found at Derma-E or Ulta stores.

As for the blue light protection. I am still on the fence about it. Yes, my skin feels better in terms of texture and smoothness. I also feel that my pores have shrunk. I can’t attribute the latter to this product or maybe it’s just my general skincare routine as of late.

Do I think the BLUE LIGHT SHIELD CONCENTRATED SERUM and BLUE LIGHT SHIELD SPRAY helped combat the effects of blue light on my skin? I’m going to say yes because I like to think so.

I’m not saying this will be everyone’s take on these products. Like with any product every person may have a different opinion on how it works for them. But for me I’m going to say I think the products helped combat blue light effect on my skin.

Thanks again to Derma-E for gifting me these wonderful products and the reviewing opportunity.
