Let’s face it we all face chafing no matter what time of year. But I think its more prominent during the summer months. Chafing can happen for many reasons. Your clothing may just rub you the wrong way or if you wear dresses you might have thigh irritation. Well, I was sort of skeptical when I had a MONISTAT sample arrive in a sample box a while back.
When I think of MONISTAT I always think of feminine care products. I never knew they sold anything besides that. So the sample sat on my desk for a while. I will admit it was moved around when I cleaned. But I didn’t really think much about using it until this month.
Like most ladies who have thick thighs, I tend to have chafing when I wear dresses. Then with the fact that its summer at times it makes it worse. I had a family commitment that I attended recently. I wore a dress and put this chafing product to the test.
Product Overview
From the info that is printed on the sample tube, this product is stated to help relived or prevent chafing. The product is a gel powder formula. So basically it’s a gel formula that has a powder feel once its applied ot the skin. It doesn’t have a real scent to it. After you apply it you may notice a light powder scent on your fingers.
User Experience
So as I mentioned I tried it when I wore a dress. I can say that the application is very quick. You apply a small amount on your fingers. Then you apply it to the area that experiences chafing. For me, it was my thighs. I noticed a soon as I applied the chafing relief product I did feel a light barrier on my skin. It didn’t cause any skin irritation. The gel powder formula doesn’t leave your skin feeling greasy or oily either. Here are a few pictures of what the product looks like.
As you can see from the slide show it’s a clear product. As I mentioned it does have a powdery feel to it as you blend it out. As it dries it does leave a slight sheen on your skin but nothing too out of the ordinary.
Final Thoughts
All in all, I can say the MONISTAT Chafing Relief Powder Gel did what it claims to do. It did help reduce chafing of my thighs. I also found that the product transfer on to my dress. It may be something you may like to look into if you experience chafing during the summer months or even year-round. I liked the lightweight formula as well as the gel to powder feel. It reminded me a bit of a silicone-based primer in many ways. It blended out smoothly without feeling sticky or runny. It also was basically scentless. Yes, there was a slight powder scent but nothing too overwhelming.
