I recently shared a post via Instagram about a new LA MER product sample that had arrived in the mail. Well, I was very happy to try it. LA MER is a high-end brand that I probably won’t be able to purchase regularly so any samples are always fun to try.

Product Overview

I’d like to applaud LA MER on their eye-catching product packaging. It’s simple yet lovely. It adds a touch of elegance to the excitement of opening a sample. Okay maybe that’s just my feelings on it but still. They do a nice job of presenting a product.

According to the back of the card that was sent with the sample, The Concentrate is a multi-use product. It is stated to help soothe and strengthen your skin. It’s a clear serum so I can be used in combination with other skin care products. I will add that you might want to do a spot test to make sure you don’t have skin reactions when you try this with another product. I didn’t but it’s always better to be safe than sorry.

My User Experience

So as you saw in the photo above the Concentrate is a clear serum. When I applied a drop to the back of my hand I noticed it has a very unique blend of scents. the one I noticed right off is Eucalyptus. I also had a grassy note. Now that i read the package it also has Alfalfa as well as Lavender in it as well. You can read the full list of ingredients here. I found the serum to be lightweight and quick absorbing. The scent faded quickly after I applied the serum to my skin.

I applied it two ways. I tried it on a damp face and also a dry face. When I mean a damp face I mean a lightly moistened face. Following both applications I noticed the absorption time was the same. For my dry face application, I liked that it seemed to help relieve my dry skin. I made sure the product was fully dry before applying any other products.

I tried it alone a few times and noticed it did leave my face feeling soothed. I didn’t have any skin irritation nor did i have any other adverse reactions. It didn’t leave my face feeling sticky or tacky either. I also didn’t look oily or very shiny. Being that the sample tube is small I tried to use it sparingly. I think one to two drops may be enough to cover your face and neck.

Final Thoughts

LA MER The Concentrate is a nice serum. I found it had two cons (for me anyway). The first is the strong Eucalyptus scent may put some people who are sensitive to scents off. I didn’t mind it. I liked it but I know some people can be a bit touchy about strong smells.

The second con was the high-end price tag. The Concentrate retails for around $190 (USD) up to $490(USD). Yeah I know it’s not something you might be able to pick up at your local drug store.

I am thankful to LA MER for this sample. As I mentioned in my opening it’s a high-end brand I can’t afford.

On a somewhat of a related note every time I see LA MER I think of this song. Yes I know I’m strange but I couldn’t help but add that bit of silliness.

Have you tried any LA MER products?
