I purchased a Cosmedix product back in May of 2018. Well since I’m trying to finish up old products I figured I’d give you all an update. You can check out my first impressions video here.
I was able to get the full-size Detox Activated Charcoal mask for free I just had to pay shipping and handling. Cosmedix has a social sharing program named Cosmedix crowd. Currently, it seems to be a bit dormant but you can still learn more by visiting the link. I hadn’t heard of this brand before I saw social shares for it.
Well, I was very excited to try the Detox activated charcoal mask. It’s easy to apply. It does have a sun sensitivity warning so you will need to use sunscreen if you play to use this during the day. I’d tried a few clay mask last year and each one that I tried had its pros and cons.
This Cosmedix mask has an easy to apply consistency. it wasn’t too thick or too thin. It is a bit of a grayish color. You will need to apply this mask to a damp or moistened face. Overall depending on the weather, it will dry in 10 to 15 minutes. You can use it up three times per week depending on your skin sensitivity. I would suggest trying once a week to make sure you don’t have any adverse reactions.
I will also say that if you do have skin sensitivity you may not want to let the mask dry until it is fully hardened on your fact to make sure you don’t have excessive redness. Besides that, it rinses clean when you remove it with some warm water and a washcloth. Since I was purchased the mask before summer I only used it sparingly. A small amount goes a long way.
Now that winter is upon us I’ve used it a bit more. I can say that it hasn’t dried out in the tube nor has it changed much due to weather conditions. It is still very effective. I love how it dries evenly on the face and it doesn’t feel tight. It also didn’t feel like it dries out my face either. My skin is left smooth and soft.
I will admit that this is a bit of a splurge in terms of skincare. it prices at $54 (USD) so if this is something you’d like to look into visit the links provided in the post. For me, I was willing to try it because I was able to use my points for a free product minus shipping and handling cost. That was under $10 (USD). In the end, it was worth trying. Personally, I don’t think I’ll repurchase another product due to the price point but it’s still a quality product.
