• It’s legal to own a hedgehog in the U.S. except for these states: Pennsylvania, Hawaii, California, Georgia, Arizona and Maine.
• Hedgehogs live about 4-6 years in captivity, compared to up to 3 years in the wild.
• Hedgehogs are insectivorous (insect eaters).
• Hedgehogs are not related to groundhogs or porcupines.
