We have a gardening enthusiast in our lives. So I thought I’d share some gift ideas. No matter what size they are they will be greatly appreciated.

The Basics

If you’re on a budget one of the easiest gifts is a gift care to a local nursery or home center. Another idea is to make a garden project basket. Where you purchase seeds or a small plant and add accessories such as gloves or gardening tools.

Seeds

If you do buy seed packs you can purchase them in store or online. Here’s a list of a few sites I love to order from
Seeds of Change
You can also find these in many stores now as well
Renee’s Garden
I love this company because they are located in my home state of California. Their website also offers some great recipe ideas as well.

Gardening tools

Be it that the gardening enthusiast has a full yard or just a small balcony gardening tools are a must-have.

Sets are nice if the person you are giving the gift too has room.

Here’s an example of a nice set.

Ames also has a set of 3 garden tools for a reasonable price as well.

Wood Handle Trowel, Cultivator and Trans-Planter

If your looking for individual tools here’s some great examples as well

Fiskars also has some great tools. Some are plastic but very sturdy and fairly  weather resistant. Their pruners are very sturdy as well.

I”ll add some more suggestion on accessory ideas at the end of my post.

Seed Starters & Pots

I’ve come across a lot of great products recently. I’ve even tried a few that I loved. So here’s a list.

Seed starters

Jiffy has some great seed starter kits. You can also purchase the pods alone as refills. The kits include potting mix. All you need to do is add water to hydrate the pods. Best of all the pods can be planted so everything is biodegradable.

As you can see they have a variety of sizes along with a self watering kit as well. All you need to do is plant your seeds and place the kits in a warm place. I was very surprised at how quickly my seeds sprouted. Once the seedlings get to a certain size you can transplant them. These are great for people who want to start their planting early.

Pots

I’ve used a few pots over the years and these are my favorites. I’ve even shared them with friends. My mom loves them because they are great to start seedlings in.

If your looking for a more eco-friendly pot here’s an example of one. I will say that you may not want to overwater this pot because it can fall apart.

You can also find a variety of pots at your local nursery and home centers.
