A few weeks ago Loreal had a free sample offer for one of their Pure Clay mask products. Seeing that i like free samples I requested it. Like with most requests i either forget about them or think they might no arrive. Usually, it’s the first option in that list. The sample arrived last week.  The packet was a nice size and included a $2 off coupon which was nice. You can sign up for Loreal’s newsletter to have alerts when samples are available

This latest Pure Clay mask has Yuzu lemon in it and exfoliating particles. I’d never tried the Pure Clay mask products before so I was very interested in seeing how well it worked. They have 4 other Pure Clay masks in the collection you can see more here.
The packet was very easy to open you just tear a tab that was already perforated.

Overall the mask is colorful, to say the least. I hate to say it but it reminded me a bit like mustard. It’s yellow but it has a pleasant scent. it’s almost floral. For certain you can smell the citrus notes.

The mask is easy to apply. The exfoliators are small and didn’t seem to irritate my skin as i applied the mask to my face. I didn’t notice them at first until i applied more of the mask.

As I mentioned the color of the mask is yellow.

The packet had some left over so I applied the rest to my neck and any parts of my face that looked a bit bare. The clay mask didn’t irritate my face nore did it feel drying. It was different from others I’ve tried in the past. It dires in about 10 minutes. Again this may depend on the weather conditions.
As it dried I didn’t feel like I had a rock on my face. It was soothing in a way. I didn’t have the sensation of the moisture being sucked out of my face.

As you can see when the mask dried it didn’t dry in one big patch. Since I applied a thin layer it seemed to dry in sections. Even with the added mask applied it still looked a bit light. To remove the mask you can use warm water and a washcloth. You remove it in circular motions. I just hopped in the shower and rinsed my face.

As you can see the mask rinsed clean. Forgive my bleeding nose. I didn’t realize I’d scratched myself. Overall the mask was nice and fit my needs. It didn’t dry my skin out nor did it cause any adverse reactions. I also liked the scent it wasn’t earthy like regular clay masks can be. I think all in all it will be worth a try to purchase a full sized product.
