Last week (4/23/2018 – 4/27/2018) I gave myself a makeup challenge. As I mentioned in my original post I don’t do my makeup often so I opted to see what I could come up with. I was happy with my results and so were many others who liked my Instagram shares. Thank you for that. I thought I’d share my final thoughts on my experience.
Last weeks makeup looks
Monday
I went for a shimmer along with a bluish green mix. This was also a look I used for an Influenster makeup contest for the elements in honor of Earth Day.
Tuesday
I went for a pink look that day. This was also an entry for a 0.8 Liter USA contest inspired by cherry blossoms.
Wednesday
Was my rocker look inspired by my Nine Inch Nails band shirt. it was a mix of black, blue and silver. I also added a dark lip.
Thursday
My inspiration for my makeup that day was my Winnie-the-Pooh shirt. I used a few different shades of green, gold and a light pink.
Friday
That day’s look was just a basic whim. I tried to pull together a shimmer effect with a teal shade.
Final Thoughts
All in all, I think my makeup challenge was fun for me. I was able to think outside my usual box. I also found that the more I used my make up the quicker I am at applying it. I found it fun to find new ways to try to pull together looks from what I was wearing that day.
This challenge gave me time to be creative as well. I know most of my looks usually turn out the same in the end. No matter how hard I try I tend to go back to what I would call my comfort zone. But this allowed me to expand my color options. I also felt a little more secure in my final look as well. Like with most things makeup is a learning process I have yet to master fully.
I’m glad I opted to give myself this challenge I was able to make myself try something new. To be honest my favorite ones were the rocker look (Wednesday) and Friday’s look. If you’d like a product list of any of the looks just click on the link.
What did you all think of my looks? Would anyone like me to try to post a tutorial?
