I thought I’d share this product I just reviewed for 08L It’s a webcam privacy cover. It’s very easy to install and slides so you can still access your cam when you need it.
The one I was sent was in the shape of the US Flag. They offer a variety of options It’s easy to install and works great. I lined up the cover with my webcam by using my webcam to see where the full lens sensor was. You may need to measure prior to installation to make sure you don’t block other sensors.
Once I lined it up I found that all had to do was clean my webcam area with alcohol before peeling off the plastic film off the back of the cam cover. You will need to press the cover firmly to make sure it adheres properly. once it’s set into place you can go ahead and slide it to the side to check your webcam again.
According to the manufacturer, this may be a one time use product but if you’re looking for an economical laptop webcam privacy cover this may be your option. Installation is quick and easy no extra glues or adhesives are needed. Just peel and stick and your good to go.
