I had seen silicon baking mats over the years. I had never bought them because I wondered how safe they were to use or I didn’t have the money. Well this morning I put it to work. To my surprise it is very durable yet flexible. I had a container of store bought biscuits so I thought I’d try the mat out. After I removed it from the bag I washed it per the instructions on the box. Basic soapy water and rinse well. I dried it and placed it on a baking sheet I found.
I happened to find a rimless baking sheet that has a raised lip on one side. It fit well with out any over hang. I would suggest if you have a rimmed baking sheet this wold work much better. Thanks to circles and sizes on the sides gives you a perfect template. The circles offer even spacing between your food.
According to the manufacture the baking mat can withstand a temp of up to 420 degrees Fahrenheit. Besides being oven safe you can use it in the freezer and the microwave.
After I removed my biscuits from the oven they came off the baking mat with out any issue.Chef Clever’s Baking Mat does hold up to it’s non-stick statement. I removed the baking mat from the hot baking sheet and placed on a cooler heat proof surface. By the time I finished making breakfast this morning the mat was cool to the touch. Once it is removed from the baking sheet it cools quickly. After I washed and dried it I rolled it up and placed it back in the original box.
The Chef Clever Baking Mat would be a great addition to anyone’s kitchen who is an avid baker. This would also make a great gift for anyone who likes to make fudge or other sweet treats. I have a feeling we will get a lot of use out of it come Fall and Winter. With it’s easy to clean and store design this is a keeper. With proper care this baking mat should last you a long time.
