The other day that we were out shopping my mom picked up a packet of store brand sandwich cookies or if you like generic Oreo cookies. We also picked up a package of Double stuff Oreo’s because that’s what I found. So we had a taste test the other day and I thought I’d share the results.

STORE BRAND

So, let’s start with the store brand. I happened to buy both products at my local Smart and Final Extra store (For those of you who don’t live in Southern California You can click on the link to learn more about this store.)

As you can see the cookie looks similar to a standard Oreo but minus the brand stamp. I also noticed the cookie pattern was a bit offset or even smudged. Besides that, it was a standard sandwich cookie.

NAME BRAND

There isn’t much to say about an Oreo cookie we know what they look like and taste like for the most part this was just to show you compared to the store brand.

Comparisons

This gives you a better view of the overall cookie size and pattern. I thin the Oreo cookie os a bit larger than the store brand cookie.

Since we bought a double stuff Oreo cookie it does have more filling versus the store brand cookie.

Taste

I found the Oreo cookie to be sweeter than the store brand cookie. I also found the store brand cookie to be a bit drier than the Oreo. This may have to do with the fact of processing.

I also noticed that the Oreo cookie was a bit more flavorful as opposed to the store brand cookie.

Final Thoughts

In my opinion, the Oreo cookie won.

What are your thoughts of Store brand vs. Name brand ?
