I thought I’d share some of Pal’s favorite products we tried in 2023.
We tried a variety of products this year. But here are some of the ones we can say were our favorite.
hair care
I tried a few different hair care products this year. But these were the ones I can say were my favorites.
Shu Uemura
I was lucky enough to be selected by Bzzagent to test these products. This is a Japanese company that has a variety of hair care products.
I tried the Gentle Cleansing shampoo and the Izumi tonic collection of products.

Both products were very gentle on my hair. They hydrated my hair and softened it very well. The Izumi ionic collection offered a slight volumizing effect. I didn’t use the serum as much as I should have, but I liked it when I did use it. It didn’t leave my hair too oily or sticky.
Garnier Frutics Products
I also tried a trio of products from Garnier thanks to Bzzagent as well this year.
GARNIER FRUCTIS Pure Moisture Products are great
I was surprised by these products. They hydrated my hair and softened it. It also didn’t leave my hair feeling oily. The 10-in-1 spray was a very good heat protector as well.

Home Products
There were a few home products I was able to test this year as well.
Here are a few that we loved.
Mattresses
This year we were lucky enough to sample two mattresses. My parents were thrilled to try the Simmions Peaceful sleeper 10.5-inch mattress.
This mattress offers firm support and extra lumbar support. It also has low motion transfer as well. So far my parents love it.
I was able to test another mattress thanks again to Try It Sampling. This time I was able to test a Serta Perfect Sleeper. So far I’m happy with it. It offers great lumbar support and also has low motion transfer.
Rain barrel
Not long ago I was tested a rain barrel. So far we’ve loved it. It’s easy to use and doesn’t require any real assembly. It offers a drain hose as well as a screen you can place over the collection opening.
This is a great addition to our garden because it will help us collect rainwater for watering our garden.
Rust-Oleum 5 in 1 spray paint
This was a game-changer for me. it offers 5 in 1 spray patterns in one can. I was able to try 2 cans and loved the coverage on both of them.

Tech accessories
Skullcandy Sesh ANC earbuds
This was the first set of wireless earbuds I’ve used. I liked them the sound is clear and crisp. They charge quickly and are comfortable to wear.

The noise canceling feature is helpful. This may not fully block out noise if you walking on a busy street or in a loud environment but it does diminish it. These even offered a cool voice-activated feature. If you say “Hey Skullcandy…” it could increase volume or do other things. I wasn’t able to get it to work but maybe it was just my phone compatibility issue. The earbuds also have an app you can use to control other features as well.
For me, I’ve liked them so far. they are comfortable to wear and don’t fall out of my ears even when I tilt my head.
Target has them for sale online for a good price.
USB mic
I upgraded my mic this year and so far I like it. I upgraded from the Blue Snowball to the Yeti.
I haven’t had a lot of time to use it but the sound quality is clear an even. It also offers added software you can use to adjust your audio as well.
