If you have a website you know social media posts are key. Finding a way to post them to your website may be a bit tricky depending on your budget and site type.

If you run a WordPress site you can add a plugin to share your social posts. This may be great to have for those folks who visit your site and don’t follow you.

I’m using WordPress (dot org) but if your using WordPress.com these plugins may also work there. you may need to check your plan and also check with plugin support.

can’t you just post IG images to your site?

You can but if you want to have a curated grid or even an eye-catching slider a plugin can help you with that. Also, It can be time-consuming to post multiple images to your site daily.

Pal’s top 5 IG plugins

Here at Life with Pal, we’ve used a few Instagram plugins over the past few years. When we were originally Reviews and Savings Pal we used a few different plugins. The Pro prices are for single-site licenses. Visit the links for more details.

an important note:

I will say that when Instagram updates the app and its API you may run into some issues. This is inevitable because Instagram makes changes to their platform often so some plugins may not be up to date as quickly.

1.Smash Balloon Social Photo Feed

I liked Smash Balloon because it’s easy to set up. The free version allows basic customization but the Premium version has more features.

Your posts will be shared quickly on your site.

The only reason I stopped using it was because my feed didn’t display anymore. Once again this was an API update issue.

Pros:

  • Easy to use
  • Offers customization (limited in free version)
  • Images post automatically

Cons:

  • The pro version is expensive
  • limited features for the free version
  • May crash with new IG updates

The pro version is around $100 USD (the price may vary when they have a sale).

2. Spotlight Social Feeds

We’ve been using this Instagram plugin for the last year or so. I like that it’s easy to set up and if you pay for the Pro version it allows you to combine feeds.

Once you have your feed setup all you have to do is add the shortcode to the area you’d like it to display. Like the previous plugin, it allows automatic posting.

Pros:

  • easy to set use
  • the free version is basic but good
  • You can customize your feed

Cons:

  • Pro offers more options
  • The feed may be slow to update after IG update
  • Have to upgrade to share multiple feeds

So far I’ve been happy with the plugin. Their support staff is helpful and knowledgeable. The Pro version is reasonably priced at under $60 USD.
