Post updated: 3/3/2023 to change Derma-E link.
I’ve tried several hair care products from Derma-E over the last few years. I loved them all. The most recent products I’ve tried three that I’ve come to love as well.
Thanks to Derma-E for these gifted products.
Recover and Repair Deep Conditioning Hair Treatment mask
I don’t use hair masks very often because I don’t tend to style my hair with heat. I’ve used some in the past and have found them a bit too drying for my hair type. Others left my hair very oily.
This hair mask however did the opposite.
The product
This Recover and Repair Deep Conditioning Hair Treatment mask are sold in a jar. This was gifted to me a while ago in a mixed-product box.
The mask is easy to use. it can be used once a week. You can use it for 5 to 10 minutes. Or up to 30 minutes for maximum effects. You can use it on damp hair following shampooing. You apply it from root to tip.
Ingredients (source Derma-E product page)
Purified Water, Cetearyl Alcohol, Behentrimonium Chloride, Glycerin, Hydrolyzed Vegetable Protein, Rice Amino Acids, Panthenol, Camellia Sinensis (Green Tea) Leaf Extract, Argania Spinosa Kernel Oil, Cetyl Alcohol, Allantoin, Tocopheryl Acetate (Vitamin E), Cocos Nucifera (Coconut) Oil, Hydrolyzed Cannabis Sativa Seed Extract, Papaya (Papaya) Fruit Extract, Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba) Seed Oil, Cymbopogon Schoenanthus (Lemongrass) Oil, Mangifera Indica (Mango) Seed Butter, Guar Hydroxypropyltrimonium Chloride, Behenyl Behenate, Phenoxyethanol, Ethylhexylglycerin.
User experience
I’ve used the hair mask a handful of times now. At first, it was a bit tricky since it is a thicker product. So you may have to find the right amount to apply for your hair type and needs.
The hair mask is a cream-like product. It’s white to beige color. it has a bit of a citrus scent to me. You may want to use a spatula or your fingers to remove it.
After my first time use, I noticed my hair was a bit softer and more manageable. The ends weren’t as dry.
As I mentioned this may be a trial and error process since you will need to figure out the right amount to apply to your hair.
Also the longer the leave it on the more it helps hydrate and nourish your hair.
Overall the hair mask did a good job of making my hair smoother and softer. It also helped enhance my natural waves. I liked that it rinsed out well and it didn’t mat my hair or tangle it.
I liked that the mask didn’t weigh down my hair or make it feel oily.

Other Derma-E hair care
I tried two other products I thought were worth sharing. I tried a Tea tree scalp product and hair oil.
Scalp Relief Treatment
This product is a tea tree base scalp oil. You can apply a few drops to your scalp and massage them in. This is to be used on damp hair. It helps with an itchy scalp.
If you are sensitive to tea tree oil you may want to spot test to make sure you don’t have any adverse reactions.
Ingredients (source Derma-e product page)
Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice*, Purified Water, Glycerin, Olive Oil Glycereth-8 Esters, Melaleuca Alternifolia (Tea Tree) Leaf Oil, Macrocystis Pyrifera (Sea Kelp) Extract, Aphanizomenon Flos-Aquae (Blue Algae) Powder, Emblica Officinalis (Amla) Fruit Extract, Melia Azadirachta (Neem) Leaf, Arctium Lappa (Burdock) Root Extract, Arctostaphylos Uva-Ursi (Bearberry) Leaf Extract, Fagara Zanthoxyloides Bark, Menthol, Methone Glycerin Acetal, Niacinamide, Chamomilla Recutita (Matricaria) Flower*, Camellia Sinensis (Green Tea) Leaf Extract*, Hamamelis Virginiana (Witch Hazel) Leaf Extract, Coptis Chinensis Root Extract, Mentha Arvensis Leaf Oil, Mentha Piperita Leaf/Stem Oil, Caffeine, Epilobium Angustifolium (Willowherb) Flower/Leaf/Stem Extract, Willow (Salix Alba) Bark Extract, Copper PCA, Leuconostoc /Radish Root Ferment Filtrate, Xanthan Gum, Potassium Sorbate, Ethylhexylglycerin, Phenoxyethanol.
User experience
Overall the product worked well for me. I would suggest starting off with a few drops on different parts of your scalp and then massaging them. The product does have a tea tree scent that fades.
I found that if you apply too much you may have a slight burning sensation or an intense warming. You will want to wash your hands after applying this so you don’t have any skin issues.

Final thoughts
For me, the product worked well. It did help with my itchy scalp. I liked that a few drops did the trick.
This may not be a product for everyone especially if you have a tea tree sensitivity. But it’s worth trying if you tend to have an itchy scalp.
Where to buy
This can be purchased directly from Derma-e for $15.50 USD. Price will vary by retailer. It can also be found at Target.

since my original use of this product, it looks like this may have been changed and rebranded to the following product: Styling Repair Hair Oil.

Overall the hair oil worked well. I did notice if I used too much it made my hair oily. But it did nourish the ends of my hair. I also found that it worked well for dry elbows as well.
Here is a video of me using both the scalp product and the hair oil.
