My brain and dreaming
Iβve always been an avid dreamer but over the years my dreams have become so vivid and intenseΒ (for the lack of a better word) that they have begun to make me think. I understand the process and need for dreaming. I also know everyone has different views on dreams depending on the subject of the dream. I have invests a fair amount of time researching my own dreams using books and the internet. Usually with varying results.
Like most things, my dreams have ranged from silly to dramatic to even downright lifelike. Iβve woken up many a time feeling disoriented and oddly confused. Iβve also woken up laughing because a dream has been funny. One funny dream I recall was having an argument with one of my favorite musicianβs over a lost dog. Yeah like I said it was silly. Iβve also had dreams that are so mundane itβs not funny. Such as, doing laundry or having random chats with others.
Within the last ten years or so my dreams have become so much more vivid that I have had to write them down. I used to share them with friends via emails but some were so long I just started to write them down. I have two dream binders.
Yes, binders one contains my emails and the other is full versions of dreams Iβve had.Β The shortest dream Iβve written down is four to six pages long. The longest is around twenty -four pages. The latter was rather lengthy and greatly detailed. I will admit many of these dreams do include someone famous in them. I think out of the forty dreams Iβve written down 35 of them include someone famous.
I donβt know about anyone else but when I have very intense dreams I wakeΒ up drained. I feel like I havenβt slept at all. These types of dreams usually have some sort of significance later on in my life. I will admit I have had a few prophetic dreams over the years but I didnβt quite understand them until the event happened. Β Now thatβs neat yet scary but thatβs just me.
Reoccurring dreams
Reoccurring dreams are another thing that has been bugging me lately. These dreams are interesting to me because the main point of the dream stays the same but they tend to evolveΒ over time.
RecentlyΒ I have been having a reoccurring dream that I can only describe involves my dream family. I will admit Iβve dreamed about kids along with my ideal spouse but this is starting to get a bit odd. Even for me, Iβm starting to think I might be losing it.
The dreams are innocent enough they are basic family dreams but over the last few months, they have evolved so much that I am starting to wonder if my brain is trying to compensate for the fact that Iβm single or if in fact, the dream events will eventually become my life one day. All I know is that they are very interesting to talk about with friends.
I can say for certain I have dreamed my dream spouse before many years ago. but as of late my brain has started to include additional characters such as extended family. By this, I mean in-laws along with children. So itβs never a dull moment in my dreaming life.
Iβd love to hear what you have to say on the topic.
