Back in early February, I was sent a sample for testing. This was a belated Viewpoints campaign. Viewpoints has been officially close and have merged or changed over to Bzzagent.
I was happy to try a new lipstick. I’d tried L’Oreal products in the past but was happy to be reviewing this new product.
Product overview
The lipstick tube design is very simple and eye-catching. It white with a gold accent.

It’s easy to open and even has a notch on the back to keep the lid in place.
The lipstick is sold in ten shades. I was sent the shade 204 Spring Coral
The lipstick is a satin formula and also has hydrating oils in it.
User experience
When I opened the lipstick I was worried the shade would be too red for me. I did a few swatch tests to see how it reacted on my hand before applying it to my lips.
I did a swatch test in my bedroom where I use natural daylight style light bulbs and I also two too in my bathroom just to see if there was a color difference. I use the same style light bulbs in there as well.
swatches
bedroom lighting swatch, bathroom lighting swatch 1, bathroom lighting swatch 2,
As you can see the swatches did appear a bit redder then I’d hoped. But since I never know what the final color will look like until I actually applied it to my lips I figured I’d risk it and see what color it turned.
applied to lips
Since I had to test the product I applied it to my lips and did the same photo-taking as with the swatches. I took one in my bedroom and one in the bathroom.

So the color did look like it changed a bit once it settled onto my lips. It turned more a pinkish shade. I’m glad it wasn’t bright red.
A full day of wear
Back at the end of February, I had an appointment so I figured I’d give the lipstick a try. I liked that it easy to apply. it didn’t feel thick or drying to my lips. Personally I’ve always liked satin formulate or cream formula lipsticks best because I have dry lips so matte seems to make them dryer.

So once again the L’Oreal Age Perfect lipstick turned more of pink shade on me. I didn’t mind it much at all. You do see the coral hints in it though.
In terms of wear, it lasted very well. Like with most lipstick you may need to reapply if you are eating and drinking. I wore it for most if not all of the day. I found that you had normal transfer if you were wiping your mouth after eating. I didn’t notice a large amount of lipstick on my glass when I drank water. Again this may vary from user to user and depend on how many coats you apply.
Removal
I found that the removal was very easy. As I mentioned before it didn’t seem to dry my lips out so the extra oils are a plus. I also liked that it didn’t stain or darken my lips. I’ve had that happen with products in the past.

When I tried it back on 2/8/2020 I tested how much product would transfer to a tissue. Overall the transfer was as expected. This may vary by how hard your either press or wipe your mouth.
Final thoughts
Overall the L’Oreal Age Perfect lipstick 204 Spring Coral fits my needs perfectly. It held up wear in terms of wear time. I also liked the satin formulation. With the fact that it has extra oils, it helps keep your lips hydrated. It doesn’t feel too oily once applied. It also doesn’t have an overly shiny finish either. The texture was perfect. It didn’t break up or cake nor did it feel like it flaked off my lips.
The color Spring Coral worked well with my skin tone. It didn’t seem to turn too red or hot pink on me.
Now in terms of price this L’Oreal Age Perfect product is about average for lipsticks. It ranges from $8 to $10 USD. This may vary by retailer.
