I’m not ashamed to say I’m not feeling very patriotic today.
How can I when I see the world falling apart? I mean that figuratively and literally in some cases.
How can I be proud of our country when it’s being paraded around as a fake superpower if it’s just masking racism?
Let’s face it, America has always had racism
We can’t hide the fact that America has always had racism. However, there were times when it may have subsided (for lack of a better word).
I think the rise of the Orange menace brought back the wave of hate.
I can’t justify celebrating America when people are being torn from their families
I can’t see the point in celebrating how great our country is when people are being violently taken from their families. It hurts my heart to see my fellow Mexicans and Hispanics being taken into ICE custody like they were criminals.
No one deserves to be violently thrown to the ground and held down by 4 or 5 men to prove how powerful the government is.
This is a scary time to be brown or a person of color in America.
Things may get worse
With the passing of the recent Big, ugly bill, I fear that things will get worse for many Americans. I worry that my health insurance will be taken away. As well as support for many seniors and those with special needs. Let’s not forget the children, too.
How is taking valuable services from those in need helping us be great again?
How is leaving people without healthcare going to be helpful?
It seems like every day is something new to worry about.
