Happy Earth Day 20224. I thought I’d make a quick list of things you can do today.

Don’t forget to recycle

Let’s face it recycling is one of the easiest things we can do today if your workplace has a recycling can or collection spot kudos to you.

You can also remember to pitch recyclables in a proper bin. Many grocery stores now offer bins as well.

Enjoy nature

Granted it’s Monday but you can try to enjoy some time in nature. Even if it’s a small outdoor space you can take in the splendor.

Taking in your surroundings counts too. You can enjoy a flower boarder or a lone sunflower in someone’s garden if you pass one.

Listening to the birds sing or watching squirrels counts too.

Plant something Or buy a plant

You can plant a small garden (if you have the space and time). Or you can plant seeds in a pot.

You can also purchase a plant to liven up a room or area. You don’t have to break the bank with your plant you can find a small one from the grocery store.

Reuse, Reduce, or Upcycle something

This can be done year-round and is a big one that can cut down on waste or even clutter.

Reuse

You can reuse old jars, or containers for other purposes. Just make sure they are cleaned properly. I like to reuse some of my old skincare jars for small items.

I reuse plastic containers for craft projects, gardening, or other storage purposes.

If I have extra fabric (sheets, towels, etc.) I use them as background for photos. I use old shirts as rags or cleaning cloths for when I paint.

Reduce

You can recycle as I mentioned earlier. But you can also try to find products that are refillable or that offer a recycling program where you send the packaging back in a pre-paid envelope or box.

You can also donate items that you no longer use. For instance, I like to share my craft products with friends or my local library.

It helps reduce clutter and the products will be used by someone who needs them.

Upcycle

You can upcycle items that may no longer work for you. You can repurpose something that is no longer fitting its purpose.

Such as you can reuse a cloth shower curtain as a table cloth. If you sew you can make something new out of an old sheet or shirt.

No matter what

No matter what you do on Earth Day the best thing you can do is to have a good day.
