In yesterday’s post, I mentioned that I’ve had a few people request follow backs or the (dreaded) follow for a follow. Again i understand everyone hopes to boost their social media presence and appeal. Yet I’ve noticed something else as well. I’ve noticed a few repeat followers.
I’m all for new followers but…..
I’m all for new followers but it seems now that there are all these 3rd party apps or other services that will auto follow your account or profile. How do we know that the content you create is something the new follower is interested in? Also how do we even know they will follow long term.
I’ve noticed lately mainly via Instagram my follower count fluctuation between 1,155 to around a little over 1,160’s. I’m glad that people find my content worthwhile but I still wonder how many are truly following for the content as opposed to auto followers to boost their own follower count.
That being said I will never know and to a degree I don’t really care. Yet again it still piques my interest to learn more.
However, I have noticed
However I have noticed that i see at least one profile refollow me every few days or maybe every two week. Now that gets me. If someone follows you you’d think they wouldn’t unfollow. That’s my thought anyway.
Yet we know some people may follow because you are participating in a giveaway or are sharing something they may enjoy. But then they may unfollow because of the same reasons. They didn’t win the said giveaway or no longer care for your content.
I still find the follow to unfollow then to refollow process a bit strange. It also seems a bit of a chore to me.
What’s up with the refollow
This profile I keep seeing also follows at least two other people I do. So I have no idea if they just unfollow me to refollow hoping I may follow back. I also don’t know if the person uses an auto-generated follower aggregator service. The profile may also just like random accounts who knows.
But it’s strange to see the same profile pop up as a new follower every so many days. Then again i guess I shouldn’t complain right? At least someone thinks what I share is worth following.
