I’m always up for trying a new product. That’s a given. When it comes to deodorant however I’m always on the fence. I’ve shared about a few natural deodorants I’ve tried in the past you can read that post here. Some products I liked others just weren’t for me. Like with most new products you add to your routine your body may take some time to adjust to them.

The product

I came across the GREEN GOO Deodorant a few weeks back while out shopping. It caught my attention because it has Aloe Vera in it. It’s also Aluminum free. I also liked the scent. It’s apricot & lemongrass. Just a side note the package label may have changed since I purchased this item.

Overall the product lists that it’s free of baking soda, parabens, phthalates and petroleum. It’s also cruelty-free and gluten-free.

As a reminder this product is stated to help with body odor. It doesn’t work well for wetness protection. It does however glide onto the skin well thanks to the aloe vera.

Ingredients (source Goo Green)

Propylene Glycol (Vegetable Derived), Water, Sodium Stearate (Vegetable Derived), Glyceryl Laurate, Aloe Barbadensis (Aloe Vera) Leaf Juice, Fragance, Humulus Lupulus (Hops) Extract, Calendula Officinalis (Calendula) Flower Extract, Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower) Seed Oil, Cymbopogon Flexuosus (Lemongrass) Oil, Ascorbic Acid.

User experinece

Overall I liked the fact that the product was clear. It also glides onto the skin easily. You can apply one to two swipes under your arm. The scent is nice but not overwhelming. You don’t smell like a fruit salad or a tea blend.

I liked that the product melted into the skin. I didn’t feel any irritation or burning. If you have any adverse reactions it is suggested you stop using the product. I liked that it didn’t stain my light colored shirts.

I also noticed that when applied it didn’t seem to leave any types of marks on the skin. You feel it on your underarms but it doesn’t feel caked onto your skin.

I applied a swipe to my hand and it doesn’t even really leave much of a shine. It’s light and does have the subtle scent.

As far as protection goes it does help with odor but it doesn’t do much to help with wetness. Since it may take time for your body to adjust to the product I can’t say if it will help fully for wetness protection. But for me I can say odor wise it seems to be working okay.

I tested it during a few very hot days we had recently and it seemed to do well. Again this may vary from user to user. You may also need to reapply if your are in a hot enviroment.

Final thoughts

The GREEN GOO deodorant is a nice change from commercial deodorant brands. But I think I may have to keep looking for a deodorant that handles odor and wetness together. I liked the scent and didn’t think I stunk when I started to sweat.

I liked that it’s natural and has aloe vera in it. It does leave my underarms looking smooth. I didn’t have any adverse reactions either. I’ll finish off the product to see if my opinions change.

GREEN GOO Deodorant can be found via their website and Amazon. It is also sold at a few other retailers as well.

The product ranges around $8 USD. This may vary depending on the retailer. I purchased my product for under $5 at a discount store. Visit the links provided to see more.
