What can I say about the Sir Stitch Sewing Kit. Besides it having a unique name it is a basic sewing kit. It does offer a fair amount for the price. This would be great to have on hand at the office or away at school to help you fix a loose button or a torn seam. It is unique in it’s own way as sewing kits go because it offers a few items a previous sewing kit I reviewed recently did not. 

As you can see from the image Sir Stitch has all the basics. I did like however that it came with a variety of colored pins and the chalk pencil which is great. I did however, find the scissors to be rather flimsy in my opinion. They cut the thread fine but if you use to much pressure the handles will over lap slightly which can result in pinched skin. 

I also like that it came with a number of safety pins and and six buttons. The thimble is very basic and will suit your basic needs. The needles come in a sealed case that allows you to rotate the cover over the needle you’d like to use and shake it out. The needle sizes vary from a small eyed to a very large eyed needle. The tape measure is 25 inches which will use normal needs. It also comes with a seam ripper and  two needle threaders. 

The thread colors are bright and vivid. They are 1 white, 1 pink, 1 red, 1 purple, 1 brown, 1 black, 1 navy, 1 grey, 1 green (bright), 1 orange, 1 yellow(bright) and 1 light blue. I used a little of the white thread and found it very easy to thread through the needle. It seems to be a decent quality. When I threaded it it didn’t separate. It sewed a clean line without and bunching or pulling. All in all this is a very handy little kit to have on hand in case of an emergency or just to replace a button. 

This kit also came with an e-book that walks you through the basics of sewing such as replacing a button. It also shows you how to repair a torn seam along with mending a hole.
