The opinion expressed is my own experience with this product. Individual results may vary.Ā
Like many people I had heard about Neem oil but had never had an opportunity to try it. So when I saw it posting on Tomoson.com I thought Iād give it a try. I was really excited when I found out I had been approved. I was lucky enough to get it at a discount thanks to Oleavin Health.Ā
Oleavin Health Neem Oil arrived a few days ago. I had been busy so I didnāt have a chance to try it until Thursday night.. According to the manufacture it can be used in a variety of ways. Such as an Acne treatment or for Athlete’s foot, or even on the body or the scalp. Ā It can even be an effective insect repellent. I canāt attest to that fact just yet but if I do try it I will update my findings later.Ā
As you can see from the image above the bottle is a good size and to my surprise is plastic. It also has a pour spout top. When you open the bottle you will have unscrew the top and take off the safety seal.Ā
I will tell you right now it does have a bit of a pungent scent. To me it smelled like a combination of Ā roasted garlic and sandalwood. The scent dissipates after a short while.Ā
The oil itself has a bit of a yellowish color to it. It is very easy to apply or add to any carrier oil or other product. On Wednesday I had my dad use it in a foot soak to help his Athlete’s foot issue. He used a regular warm water and salt soak. I added the Neem oil prior to him adding the water to the basin. He didnāt say it burned his skin at all.Ā
On Thursday night I used it myself. I used it on my upper arms. I added a two drops to my body wash and applied it like usual. I didnāt have any skin irritation or any type of burning sensation at all. I did notice my skin did feel smoother following my shower. I also applied two drops to my shampoo prior to shampooing my hair. I added the drops to the shampoo once it was in my hand. I shampooed like normal and found it to feel very refreshing. I felt a slight tingling and my scalp didnāt itch as much as it had before.Ā
Once I was out of the shower I applied to two drops of the Neem oil to my name brand facial cleanser. Like with the shampoo I added the drops prior to applying the cleanser to my face. I did have a slight burning sensation when I cleansed my face.Just to be safe I rinsed my face as soon as I felt this. I didnāt have any irritation or redness after I washed by face.I donāt know if the burning sensation was a chemical reaction with the name brand cleanser or if it was just the neem oil reacting to my dry skin. Ā I did notice this morning that my face did seem less dry and my pores looked less clogged. I would suggest you look up some natural facial cleansing recipes that use neem oil online or via a reputable health site.Ā
One thing I do have to advise is that according to Oleavine Health the neem oil is for external use only and to be kept away from the eyes if as an acne treatment. Also you may want to use a small amount to test how your skin may react if you are using it for skin care. All In all I really liked it.
